LAW FIRM WEBSITE DESIGN

Websites that reflect your law firm’s professionalism and personality...

Your law firm’s website should convey your values and professionalism, elicit trust and build credibility with potential clients, your team and the wider community.

The best legal website design

Our task as a web designer for solicitors and legal professionals is to ensure that the website we build for you properly reflects the identity of your law firm and promotes the talents of its people.

Designing bespoke websites for solicitors is one of our specialities. Our aim is always to provide a unique legal website design that sets your practice apart and delivers real competitive advantage.

What makes a great solicitors website design or legal website design?

Strategy & Planning

What are your law firm’s objectives and what must be done to achieve them?

To deliver a website that will really work for your practice we will first work with you to clearly determine objectives. These will typically include:

  • Delivering search engine visibility for key services
  • Increasing traffic to your website
  • Maximising enquiries from site visitors
  • Building confidence in your law firm’s capabilities

To realise these objectives a law firm website development project will usually include a research phase. This will look closely at the services you provide, the geographical areas you serve and your competition in web search results.

This process ensures that key objectives can reasonably be set and measured against.

Design

What’s the best way to convey your law firm’s brand and tone of voice?

We design and build custom websites for Law Firms and Solicitors

We will not constrain your website design to a predefined theme – your site design will build on your law firm’s existing branding. In fact, our design process often provides additional assets that can also be used in your print or display marketing.

The structure and technical design of the site we design for you will be informed by the research we have done to ensure the very best search engine performance.

Our experienced design team will carefully consider how to creatively communicate your key messages and balance the presentation of your practice as both professional and approachable.

Ongoing Support & Development

How can we be sure your website keeps working hard for your practice?

The content management system we build all our websites on, concrete CMS, is the ideal platform for a dynamic modern website. It’s straightforward to use and allows day-to-day website management tasks like adding a new service page or updating a team member profile to be completed easily.

We provide concrete CMS optimised hosting and support to ensure that your site will continue to perform at the highest level and to give you the reassurance that expert will be at hand should they be needed.

SRA Compliant Websites

SRA Compliance and Transparency Rules

The SRA Transparency Rules came into effect back in December 2018, requiring prices and service information to be published for the areas the firm works in including:

  • Residential conveyancing
  • Employment tribunals - unfair/wrongful dismissal
  • Probate - uncontested
  • Licensing applications - business premises
  • Immigration - excluding asylum
  • Debt recovery - up to £100,000
  • Motoring Offences - summary offences

Whether or not your law firm has a website, this important information must be available upon request. If you do have a website, you are required to make public the details of your complaints procedure on there, including how, and when a complaint can be made to the relevant governing bodies such as the SRA and Legal Ombudsman. The SRA also require their digital clickable logo to be in clear view on your law firm's website.

Law Firm Website Research

SRA Compliant Website Research Report -  2019

The SRA conducted a random audit of 500 law firm websites to monitor compliance with the rules in November 2019. 53 law firm websites were wither broken or under construction, with only 25%, or one in four, of the remaining 447 websites being fully compliant with the rules. Of the remainder, 17% were not compliant at all (we won't let you be one of these), and 58% were only partially complying with the rule set.

The number one way these law form website were falling down was a failure to make public the required complaints information, with other common faults including:

  • no information on key stages and/or timelines
  • declining to specify the amount of VAT applied to various costs
  • and not providing a description of the costs of disbursements

Law Firm Website Design and Functionality

Whilst this isn’t a crucial part of being SRA compliant, having a well put together and functioning website is crucial in converting site traffic into business. Displaying the trust indicators of the SRA Digital badge and making sure that you website operates at a high level are must haves in the modern world. Including case studies, testimonials and social proof, alongside the skills, experience and expertise that your company has are also key factors in the success of your law firm’s website.

One of the key features we’ve discovered people like to see on Law Firm Websites is Teams sections, with the phrase that "people buy from people" seeming to ring true. Being able to promote your teams and their expertise in their prospective fields is super important in making clients feel connected with their solicitors, which is why we ensure that the teams sections of our Law Firm websites are fully integrated throughout the website, easy to navigate, and display the information in a clear, professional manner. Putting names to faces is always a nice way to start the relationship as well.
